An episode of "Your Hit Parade", a music-themed TV series in which the cast performed the hit songs of the week and a couple of "extras". This episode is a bit of a "off-episode", not up to usual standards. Songs include: "Mockin Bird Hill", "Sparrow in the Treetops", "Be My Love", "How High the Moon", "On Top of Old Smoky" (a dreadful rendition), "Would I Love You" and "If". Some severe sound...

A 1954 episode of Milton Berle's "The Buick-Berle Show", a variety series. In this episode, we have a sketche mocking canned laughter, Milton meeting a wacky teenager, a interestingly dated dancing sequence, scenes with Milton pretending to break his leg, and a special name-dropping opening song about television. Picture quality is bad. Obviously Buick's attempt at aiming at a well-endowed television audience. The series aired on NBC and was live, something mentioned in the show...

Another episode of the 1950's television drama "Sheriff of Cochise". This episode, produced and distibuted by Desilu and NTA, was a crime drama that aired in first-run syndication. This episode is called "Red Haired Visitor" and indeed, hair color plays an important part in this episodes storyline. In quicktime format.

Yet another classic/vintage Aunt Jemims Pancakes commercial from the late 1950's. This one aired 4 March 1959 during an uncopyrighted tele-sitcom ("The Exploding Book", also to be downloaded on this site). Curiously, this commercial promotes eating pancakes with apple-rings. Indeed, this commercial has a sitcom-like flavor to it, such as the opening with the phase "Aunt Jemima Presents Peggy & Chuck".

Another of the many classic 1950's commercials uploaded to this site. This one, a dog food commercial from late 1958, is syrupy, saccharine, treacly, contrived, cornball, cutesy, and andsentimental, yet somehow, is still better than most commercials being made at the time of film being uploaded (september 2009). The third and final" commercial from a 4 June 1958 TV episode ("The Bridge Group"), for the same company, Eastman Kodak, and their range of Home Cameras. This commercial focuses on the more expensive models aimed for private/family use (in todays money and adjusted for inflation, one of the cameras shown cost $US444.36 in september 2009 cash). (I think it is important to note the rather short amount of time used in the programme for product-promoting). Ad hosted by Ozzie Nelson.

Another episode of that long-running ABC-TV sitcom, "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet". In this episode, Ozzie's plan for a fishing trip are derailed by a Barking dog which misses it's owner. Though the series was beginning to "run out of steam", this is still enjoyable, and contains original commercials.

An episode of that popular 1950's TV series "The Arthur Murray Party". This show aired on ABC for the first few months of its broadcast as Arthur Murray Party Time, then moved to the DuMont Television Network, ABC, CBS, DuMont, CBS, NBC, CBS, and finally NBC (in that order). This episode features special guest Johnnie Ray, a hugely popular singer who was still in the closet at the time. This episode had been uploaded before, but that upload vanished for reasons unrelated to copyright....

Another example of 1950's Popular culture, in this case an episode of "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show" possibly called "Too Much of the Mortons" and possibly aired the 5th July, 1951.
